Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. + 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling. + 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols. + 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages. + 1 year of experience with hardware or firmware security. Preferred qualifications: + 1 year of experience in writing tests for platform security properties in hardware and firmware. There's no such thing as a "safe system" - only safer systems. Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. Security Engineers work directly with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. You also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities. You use your industry experience to own and drive the resolution of complex security incidents, policy questions and technical security issues. On the Cloud DEIS (Deliver Technical Infrastructure Security) Technical Infrastructure team, you will work with the team to prioritize security tests for platform security properties in hardware and firmware. You will architect, scope, and develop tests interacting with various hardware/software architectures and tooling. You will perform security reviews of different platforms and components that are going to be deployed in Google data centers. You will also develop threat models, security requirements and investigate security properties in hardware and firmware. You will assess security of low-level firmware and will interact with different development teams in different times zones to drive security improvements.Google Cloud accelerates every organization's ability to digitally transform its business and industry. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more about benefits at Google ( . + Architect and implement automated security test infrastructure and specific tests to ensure correct and sufficient implementation of security controls for hardware platforms. + Scope and define automated security testing criteria to maintain security controls for hardware deployed in Google's data centers. + Scope and deliver comprehensive security reviews of hardware/firmware components. + Develop and refine threat models, risk assessments, and define security requirements for hardware products entering Google's data centers. + Design and engineer the necessary security controls for identified threats and risks.
